This morning I was leaving for work and as I was waiting for the elevator I noticed one of the lights in the hallways was flickering. I thought to myself if I see two little girls walk around the corner I am getting the hell out of here Liz is going to have to fend for herself!
P.S. I know the lights don't flicker in this scene, but for some reason I thought that they did before I watched it again.

All that for only $400?
If anyone has about 400 USD just laying around collecting dust, and you just can't figure out what to do with it you should go ahead and buy me this...

That's right a 3800 piece Lego diorama of the Death Star! Have you ever seen anything so cool? Of course that was a rhetorical question because you haven't. And don't say I'm too old to play with Legos this thing was not made for kids. It was made for men who have kids so they can use them as an excuse to buy it and then never let them touch it because it's too freaking awesome! Here's a link to the Gizmodo article where I found this wonderful slice of joy.

More of the same
So, I'm realizing that this blog is becoming nothing but me re-posting various videos which is not exactly what I had in mind, but apparently I'm too lazy/uninspired to change my ways so here is another one. The song is "Earth Intruders" by Bjork (the "o" should have two little dots over it but I don't know how to do that) from her latest album Volta (released in 2007). It's a superb album, and this is my favorite track from it. If you haven't heard much (or any) Bjork you really should do yourself a favor and give her a good long listen. She has an amazing voice, and her songs are really compelling and unique. Without further aideu...

Weng Weng, Weng Weng 2'9"...
So there is a movie series in the Philippines staring Weng Weng the 2'9" tall Interpol agent. Apparently, he's a mix of James Bond and Bruce Lee and Mini-Me. It's awesome. Here's a clip, hope you enjoy.
There is also a hilarious rap song about him, but it definitely has objectionable language so I'll just provide the link and you can watch it at your our peril.

Hulu
So while talking to Sam the other day I realized that not everyone is privileged to know of the glorious website known as www.hulu.com. It is a joint effort between NBC and Fox to provide TV shows, and movies on the internet. The great thing is there are about a million shows online (mostly one's currently running). You can watch full episode of The Office, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bones, etc. The movie selection seems pretty random, but there are some good ones there. Probably the best part is you usually only have to watch one commercial per show! There are also quite a few funny clips which are good for killing a few minutes every now and then. Here's one of my favorites.
And here's another just for good measure...

The Presets
I always love to discover new great music and I think I did with an Australian band called "The Presets." They are an electro band with some great vocals and contagious hooks. I'm not so great at writing music reviews so I'll just post the video of one of my favorite songs. The song is "My People" off their new album "Apocalypso"
The video is kind of trippy which is always a bonus too!

I <3 Banksy
Perhaps you're not familiar with the British artist Banksy, but you certainly should be! He is basically an incredibly insightful, talented, socially conscious graffiti artist (I know it sound like an oxymoron but believe me it's not). Here's an example of his street art. Well I recently discovered that he and a friend, that is the epic producer and one half of Gnarls Barkely Danger Mouse, went into a store bought 500 copies of Paris Hilton's CD "Paris" altered it and then put them back on the store shelves. No one even noticed until they had got the CD home, and the best part is no one returned it! Here's some of the doctored album art.

They also remixed the CD so it's basically just 40 minutes of the same beat with Paris randomly saying her ubiquitous catch phrase "That's Hot" and some hilarious sound bytes that just show how ridiculously dumb and spoiled she is. For those of you interested you can download the CD from our good friends at The Pirate Bay. Just search "Banksy" and download the result "Paris Remixed by Banksy and DM" (They even have a how-to if you've never downloaded torrents before). Enjoi!

Happy Earth Day
One more video in honor of Earth Day. The song is Timebomb by Beck. The video is amazing. It kind of makes me ashamed to think about all the resources I consume\waste. I like to think I'm relatively eco-friendly but I took an ecological footprint quiz and even though I have my doubts about some of it's methodology I still think it was fairly approximate estimate. It said I need 14 acres to support my consumption habits. To put that in perspective if everyone had the same consumption level we would need 3 planet earths to support the current population! The sad thing is that the average American needs 24 acres to support their consumption habits. Something has got to give in this country!
Jane Says
For my first post is the video for the Jane's Addiction song Jane Says. It's one of my favorite songs. I think I could literally listen to it until my brain revolted and left my skull.
New Blog
Well even though I plan on having a grand total of three people reading my blog I figured I might as well use google's memory to keep track of the random stuff I find on the internet and the other things I feel like writing about. So with out further ado...
